This gorgeous beaded stone necklace was created with Larimar, the rare precious gemstone of the Dominican Republic. Larimar is a blue variety of the silicate mineral pectolite, and is only found in this Caribbean location. It's coloring varies from white, light blue, green blue and deep blue.
I used a high quality tear drop Larimar pendant measuring 1.3" (33mm) in length that has a beautiful aqua blue and white design. Various stone beads of Larimar, Howlite, Blue Apatite and silver plated accent beads complete the design, along with pretty sterling silver chain and lobster clasp. Bead shapes throughout the piece include round, rondelle, cube and pebble, from 4mm to 8mm in size. The length is 18", with an additional 2" extender chain, making it adjustable from 18" to 20".
Larimar is also known as the Stone of Atlantis, Dolphin Stone or Mermaid Stone. Together with Blue Apatite, they are throat chakra stones and with Howlite, very calming.
