So happy to have found some beautiful banded POLISH FLINT PENDANTS that we turned into chain necklaces! The flint pendants measure 1.2" x 7" x 5" and each display different banded patterns. An 18" electroplated silver over brass rolo chain was added with silver plated lobster clasp.
Flint is part of the chalcedony family and is usually gray black, brown and cream in color. It has a glassy appearance, so it was hard for us to photograph as it reflects everything. This type of banded flint, only occurred in the Jurassic limestone in Poland (160 million years ago). The irregular banding creates extremely picturesque internal structures making for very special jewelry items.
